The initiative focuses on building awareness, training, and providing consultancy support to manufacturers, vendors, and customers.

Objective and Stakeholders:
- The initiative is part of the Ministry’s scheme on Enhancement of Competitiveness in the Indian Capital Goods Sector.
- It encompasses manufacturers, vendors, and customers as its primary stakeholders to accelerate the adoption of Industry 4.0 in the Indian manufacturing ecosystem.
Awareness and Demonstration: Experiential and demonstration centres have been established to spread awareness about Industry 4.0 technologies.
SAMARTH Centres: Four Smart Advanced Manufacturing and Rapid Transformation Hubs have been set up
- Centre for Industry 4.0 (C4i4) Lab, Pune.
- IITD-AIA Foundation for Smart Manufacturing, IIT Delhi.
- I-4.0 India @ IISc, Bengaluru.
- Smart Manufacturing Demo & Development Cell, CMTI, Bengaluru.
Support to Industries and MSMEs: The centres assist industries, particularly Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), through
- Awareness programs: Conducting seminars, workshops, and knowledge-sharing events on Industry 4.0.
- Training initiatives: Educating the workforce on Industry 4.0 technologies.
- Consultancy and incubation support: Providing guidance in areas such as IoT hardware, software development, and data analytics for startups and MSMEs.
Financial Provisions: No direct financial assistance is provided to industries or MSMEs for adopting Industry 4.0-enabled technologies under the SAMARTH Centre initiative. Instead, the focus remains on capacity building and knowledge dissemination.
