- Estimated cost: Rs. 2,300 crore.
- Length: 150 km, width: 50 feet, depth: 12.6 feet.
- Origin: Harike headworks on the Sutlej River in Ferozepur district.
- Endpoint: Warring Khera village, Muktsar district, near the Haryana border.
Irrigation Capacity:
- Designed to carry 2,000 cusecs of water (1 cusec = 1 cubic foot/second).
- Expected to irrigate approximately 2 lakh acres of farmland in southern Punjab.
- Runs parallel to the left bank of the Rajasthan Feeder Canal.
Environmental Impact: Approximately 1.3 lakh trees and plants are likely to be felled for construction.
