CHARAK (Community Health: A Responsive Action for Koylanchal) Initiative

Singrauli based Coal India arm Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) launched ‘CHARAK’- “Community Health: A Responsive Action for Koylanchal” under the guidance of the Ministry of Coal. It is an innovative health-centric CSR Initiative aimed at providing free treatment for the patients suffering from identified Life-Threatening diseases belonging to Economically Weaker Sections of Singrauli region.

About CHARAK Initiative

Under it, NCL will provide free treatment of identified life-threatening diseases at its dedicated hospital or at specialised empanelled hospitals across the country.

Eligibility: Residents of Singrauli and Sonbhadra districts having annual family income below Rs. 8 Lakhs from all sources will be eligible for benefits under this scheme.

Diseases covered: Malignancy, TB and related complications, HIV and related complications, Cardiovascular diseases, Organ Transplant, Liver disorders, burns with contractures leading to permanent disability, sudden hearing loss, Neurological Disorders, ARDS, Acute Surgical Emergencies, Serious handicap, Neurovascular disorders, Accidental trauma, Multisystem disorders, Connective Tissue disorders, Sudden vision loss etc.

Singrauli Coalfield

  • Situated at northern most part of Son Mahanadi Master Basin in Central India. 
  • Located mainly in Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh with a small portion falling in Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh.
