Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions has launched the Scheme for Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration 2023. It aims to acknowledge, recognize, reward exemplary work done by civil servants across the country.

About Scheme for Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration 2023

Objective: It aims to recognize the extraordinary and innovative work by Organizations of Central/ State Governments and Districts

For the year 2023, it will recognize the contribution of civil servants in the holistic development of Districts under the following categories

(i) Category 1: Under it, 10 awards will be conferred for holistic development of districts under 12 Priority Sector Programs

(ii) Category 2: Under it, 6 awards will be conferred for the innovations for Central Ministries/ Departments, States, Districts.

These awards will be conferred by the Prime Minister of India on Civil Services Day (21st April).

Reward: It shall consist of a trophy, a scroll and an incentive of Rs. 20 lakhs. The monetary prize given to District/Organization must be utilized for implementation of project/program or bridging the resource gap in any area of public welfare.
