Indian Navy Hosts 3rd Edition of Meghayan-25

The Indian Navy organised the 3rd edition of “Meghayan-25”, its “Meteorological and Oceanological Symposium”, to commemorate the formation of the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) and celebrate World Meteorological Day 2025 (observed on March 23).

Key Highlights

Theme: “Closing the Early Warning Gap Together” — aligned with WMO Day 2025.

Journal Revival: Launched the 10th edition of Sagarmanthan, the Navy’s professional Meteorological & Oceanological journal, after a 10‑year hiatus.

Objective: To strengthen early‑warning capabilities by fostering inter‑agency collaboration, data sharing, and research in meteorology and oceanography within the Navy, in line with global WMO priorities.
